Over the next couple of months, Staff will be working on putting together a financial plan for 2021 to present to Council in December 2020, with a recommended maximum 1.5% - 2% blended tax rate increase in mind. Staff will undertake a detailed review of current and potential service levels, planned capital projects, and various financial strategies to achieve this target.

Council was presented with the Draft 2021 Budget at its regular meeting of Council on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Council will now review the draft budget and prepare for budget deliberation meetings on February 22-24. In addition. Agencies, Boards and Commissions will present their budgets to Council on February 11, and a public meeting will be held where residents can provide input on February 17.
The 2021 Budget Guideline was presented to Council on August 12, 2020. The guideline recommends a maximum net tax rate increase of 1.5 to 2.0% and net water and wastewater rates of 5.0% and 4.0% respectively, keeping in-line with long-term rate forecast presented in 2020.

Town Departments are now compiling their operating and capital budgets for 2021 to present to Council in early December. The 2021 Budget Survey is launched and residents have the opportunity to participate in the survey and to submit comments/ideas for consideration.
