As of March 8, 2021, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) region has been moved to the Red-Control level of the Province's Response Framework.

Also on March 1, 2021, the SMDHU opened Community COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics throughout Simcoe Muskoka, including at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre in Midland.
